If you have never been to Dukemejian Wilderness Park located at the top of New York Avenue and Markridge Road in La Crescenta I strongly recommend you go. Community volunteers have been working to restore the trails severely damaged by the Station Fire and the subsequent rains. If you are an avid hiker or outdoorsman then here is a great opportunity to help at the park as well. In addition to the trails the view is spectacular and the grounds are simply stunning. A great asset to our La Crescenta community.
The Wilderness Workday for this month will be held on Saturday, January 18th at Deukmejian Wilderness Park from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. We have heard a number of our volunteers comment on what a good physical workout they receive while watering, weeding, and planting. So we are inviting you to our “Wilderness Workday Workout”. Free of charge you can hike our trails, carry one gallon bottles of water (8 lbs. each), shovel, rake, pull, bend and stretch in a beautiful, natural setting.
