Happy July, everyone! I hope you are enjoying your Summer. Here are a few things that have been making me happy lately. In this July 2025 La Crescenta real estate monthly letter, I’m sharing personal milestones, community highlights, and the latest market insights across our Foothill communities.
What do you get when two people stay married for 70 years? A house full of kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids celebrating two living legends—my in‑laws! We gathered in Northern California for a celebration of love, laughter, and lasting memories. Both are in their Nineties and still going strong. Celebrating this family milestone reminds us of the enduring value of homeownership and legacy in the La Crescenta real estate market.
And speaking of milestones… my daughter has just opened her private salon at the age of 25! After years of planning and hard work, she’s officially a business owner, and I couldn’t be prouder. That girl is a force! Supporting local entrepreneurs like her not only enriches our community culture but also helps boost the overall appeal of properties throughout the Foothill neighborhoods.
In the community, when I read the fine print on SB 549, I couldn’t stay quiet. The Governor is allocating $101 million to developers—not fire victims—to buy up burned lots in Altadena, the Palisades, and beyond. Buried in the bill? A clause hinting at eminent domain. However, here’s the catch: before any money is spent, LA County must establish a Resilient Rebuilding Authority, which requires three public hearings, held 30 days apart. If enough of the community protests, the Authority isn’t formed, and the funding doesn’t move. I hope you’ll read my whole blog, The Truth Behind SB 549, to see how this impacts every property owner and why your voice matters. This in-depth analysis is essential for anyone tracking housing policy and development in our Foothill real estate market.
Great news at Crescenta Commons—our little corner garden is getting big help! A local landscaping business, Creative Concepts Landscape & Design, has generously offered to maintain the space. In return, you’ll see their signs on-site. And more good news, a community member is now keeping watch over our American flag, ensuring it’s always flying proudly. We’re also planning a few gardening workshops and fundraisers, so stay tuned! Crescenta Commons continues to be a focal point for community engagement and adds to the neighborhood charm that makes La Crescenta real estate so inviting.
What’s Happening in Real Estate
