The House Agent I'm Just Saying podcast with Robbyn Battles

So here we are. First episode. And if you know me at all, you already know I’m not going to ease into this slowly. I’m Robbyn Battles real estate professional, community advocate, and someone who has spent 38 years in this business collecting stories, people, and conversations that are honestly too good not to share. This podcast is where all of that finally lands. This community conversations podcast has been years in the making, built from conversations, stories, and people I’ve met throughout my career and in the communities I serve.

Watch the full episode here, it’s me, introducing myself, telling you what to expect, and yes, probably saying “I’m just saying” at least four times.

Why I named my podcast, “I’m Just Sayin”, Let’s Get to the Point”

Let me explain the name, because both halves of it are deeply, personally, hilariously real. “I’m just sayin” is something that comes out of my mouth on a daily basis. Multiple times a day, if I’m being honest. It happens when I’m in a conversation and something obvious is just sitting right there in the middle of the room and nobody is saying it. So I say it. I’m very grounded in common sense, and when I see the straightforward answer I have a hard time pretending I don’t. So I’ll make my point, look at whoever I’m with, and say, I’m just saying. It’s not pushy. It’s not a lecture. It’s just me being honest about what I see.

Now, “let’s get to the point,” that one I owe entirely to my husband. We have been married 35 years this month, and I love that man with my whole heart. But honey, he is a details man. A very thorough, very complete, leave nothing out kind of storyteller. He works with architects selling windows and doors, so his work stories can get wonderfully, elaborately technical. And one day, after a particularly detailed explanation, I looked at him and said, “Sweetheart, I love you. But when I have a headache, I take an aspirin. I really do not need to know how it’s made. Do you think you could maybe just get to the point?”

He laughed. I laughed. And honestly, a podcast was born.

Because that’s exactly what this show is, curious, direct, warm, and always moving toward something worth knowing. We have too much good ground to cover to circle around it.

“I’ll make a point and then look at someone and say, ‘I’m just saying.’ And the other thing I say all the time is, ‘Can we just get to the point?’ I’m anxious to move forward and learn as much information as I can.” , Robbyn Battles, Host of I’m Just Saying Let’s Get to the Point

That’s the whole show, right there in two phrases.

Honestly? Curiosity Is Why This Exists.

I didn’t start this podcast because someone told me I needed one. I started it because I genuinely cannot stop being curious about people. Why they do what they do. What shaped them. What they figured out that most people haven’t.

Robbyn Battles 38 years in real estate, I have built up a network of some truly interesting humans. People with real stories, real perspective, real hard won wisdom. And for years those conversations happened over coffee or on the phone or at the kitchen table and then they just disappeared. This podcast is me refusing to let that keep happening.

“I am the curious cat. I want to know why someone does what they do, how they do it, when they do it.” , Robbyn Battles, Host of I’m Just Saying Let’s Get to the Point

Every single episode starts there, with genuine curiosity. And the goal is always the same: walk away having learned something you didn’t know before. This community conversations podcast is really built around one thing, curiosity about people and the experiences that shape how we live, work, and move through different stages of life.

What You Can Expect, And It’s More Than Real Estate

Let me be clear about something up front: this is not just a real estate podcast. Yes, we’ll talk about selling your home and what’s happening in the market. But the conversations I’m most excited about go way beyond that, health, exercise, seniors and aging, insurance, financial planning, community issues and development.

And honestly? I told someone the other day that I might do an episode about who cuts my hair and why they cut it the way they do. I wasn’t kidding. That’s the spirit of this show. Every person knows something worth knowing. My job is to find out what it is. That’s really the goal of this community conversations podcast, to talk about the things that affect our lives, our homes, and our communities.

A Little Bit About Me, and Why This Podcast Works the Way It Does

A little bit about me and where I come from. I grew up in real estate. My mom and dad were in the business, and when the time came, I took it over from them. It’s the only professional life I’ve ever known, and I mean that in the best possible way.

But real estate has never been the whole story for me. I’ve served on our local town council. I’ve been appointed to community boards. I helped co found a nonprofit that supports seniors in our community. I’ve been part of community development projects, including helping bring a pocket park to life in our neighborhood. I care about where I live. I always have.

When it comes to development and community issues, I try hard to look for the common sense answer rather than taking a hard side. I want what’s best for the people who live here, the longtime residents, the newcomers, the seniors aging in place, and the families just getting started. That balanced perspective shows up in how I talk about community on this show.

There Is No Map for This. And That’s the Point.

I want to tell you something honest: I’m not running this show off a content calendar. Some episodes will connect back to real estate or something we talked about before. Some will take a left turn you didn’t see coming. And some you’re just not going to love, and I am completely okay with that.

“There’s no roadmap. Some things will reconnect. Some things won’t connect. Some things you’re going to go, ‘God, I didn’t like that podcast.’ And you know what? That’s okay.” , Robbyn Battles, Host of I’m Just Saying Let’s Get to the Point

What I’m asking from you is simple: keep coming back. Because at some point something is going to make you laugh, or take notes, or want to call me out on something. And honestly? I’m here for all of it.

One Rule. Just One.

“I have one requirement. You have to be kind. We have to be respectful. That’s it.” , Robbyn Battles, Host of I’m Just Saying Let’s Get to the Point

That’s it. One rule. Bring your real opinions, disagree with me, challenge the guests, I genuinely welcome all of that. But we do it with respect. Every time. No exceptions.

Why I’m Doing This

At the end of the day, this podcast comes down to three things I care about deeply: learning from people who see the world differently than I do, sharing ideas that are worth passing on, and laughing along the way, because if we’re not laughing, we’re probably taking ourselves too seriously. This community conversations podcast is a place where those conversations can live and be shared.

So follow it. Share it. And if you have something worth saying, show up and say it. I’ll be listening. I’m Robbyn Battles, and this is I’m Just Saying, Let’s Get to the Point. Let’s go. Connect with me at thehouseagent.com or on LinkedIn.
