La Crescenta Christmas Tree Lighting:
For the past 4 years, Robbyn Battles has led the organizing and coordinating of the La Crescenta Christmas Tree Lighting. The event is sponsored by LA County Supervisor Kathryn Barger and co-sponsors include Friends of the La Crescenta Library and ASTER as well as a handful of very dedicated community members. Planning for this event starts back in June. Things really get moving along in early November and then all of the pieces start to finalize in the last two weeks of November with the big event on Tuesday, December 4th at the La Crescenta Library.

This year we are excited to have 3 local schools performing: Mountain Avenue and Dunsmore Elementary as well as Holy Redeemer. In addition, we will be doing photos with Santa and have live entertainment in the front courtyard. Festivities will start with a puppet show in the community room at 4:30 pm, Live music at 5:15, Photos with Santa 5:30, Lighting ceremony at 6:30 pm. You won’t want to miss the wonderful solo by Everly, a local 3rd grader from Valley View Elementary and our beloved American Legion and VFW will perform the color guard.

You can follow the day to day postings leading up to the event on their Facebook Page:

Montrose Christmas Parade:
This year marks a 42-year tradition. One of the largest holiday parades filled with all types of community entries. The details about the event can be found on their website: Montrose Christmas Parade –

This year’s event will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at 6 PM.  The Montrose Christmas Parade Association works all year long to plan this much-loved community event.  We are very thankful for the support of our amazing sponsors and volunteers.  We could not put this event on without the donation of time, treasure and talent.

Hope you enjoy all of the local Holiday events our wonderful community has to offer:
